We are human beings, we want to grow, we want to learn new skills and develop our competencies. We live in the world, which is very focused on the growth. The economy has to grow, the cities grow and us? We want to grow as well. The job has to offer the potential to grow. When the job does not offer the opportunity to learn new skills and we start to stagnate, we look for the change. We usually change the job.
The job change can be done internally in the organization and then it is usually called the promotion or the job rotation, but sometimes the only chance to reach some satisfaction level, we have to change the job externally. We have to quit our current employer and we have to look for the change on the external job market.
The most difficult part is the task to recognize, where the job change can be done internally or you have to go to the external job market. In many companies, the decision is not that hard as they do not support the internal rotations or promotion and they are focused on buying the new potential from the external job market. Then the decision is very easy. When you want to grow, you have to go out from the organization.
The company, which offers opportunities to make a job rotation, has the advantage of not losing so many employees. The employees have a chance to avoid the burn out syndrome. But we have to be honest, sometimes the job rotation or the internal promotion is not enough. Our emotions and our brains need a new stimulus to move forward. This is the right moment to make a change of the job.
