Christmas Party as HRM Nightmare
The Christmas Party is a part of the socializing activities in the organization. Employees take it as time to slowdown and to enjoy drinking and eating with other employees not to speak about the job too much.
The Christmas Party takes several hours to finish, but it takes many months for Human Resources to prepare. The better the Christmas Party is expected to be, the more patience from the HRM staff it needs.
The HRM Function does not sell the Christmas Party as a big marketing activity in the organization. The employees do not see the effort behind, all the negotiations as all the managers understand to the Christmas Party better than the HRM Function and all the conflicts.
The Christmas Party is a part of the HR Marketing mix and the Human Resources staff have to sell it as the activity from the HRM Function for the rest of the organization.
