The job interview preparation can be underestimated procedure, but it can hardly affect the whole recruitment and selection process.
The HR Recruiter has to conduct the job interview preparation. The HR Recruiter has clearly analyze the job profile of the vacant position to identify key competencies and skills, which are needed for a successful performance of the job position. The HR Recruiter has to prepare a set of questions, which have to be asked during the job interview. A set of the same questions is very important as they can be used as a basis for the comparison of the different job candidates.
The HR Recruiter has to study all the job resumes to make quick notes about the career of the candidates not to ask about it during the job interview. The HR Recruiter has to focus on the gaps in the job resumes, which can indicate some kind of the issue. The HR Recruiter should prepare specific questions about the career path of the job candidates to make sure all the relevant information are collected.
The HR Recruiter should conduct the job interview preparation with the line manager. The line manager has to be prepared for the job interview with a clear vision about the ideal job candidate. The ideal job candidate should the benchmark for the real candidates for the comparison. The line manager should not make the comparison just among the job candidates as the line manager has to realize the gaps at each of the candidates.
The job interview takes a limited time, usually about 45 minutes. The HR Recruiter has to make a proper job interview preparation to ensure the quality output of the selection procedure.
