High Performance Corporate Culture and Emotions

 

The corporate culture is emotional part of the organization. The high performance corporate culture is not described in any internal document or policy, which is compulsory to be read by the employees. The corporate culture is spoken and it is purely emotional.

The corporate culture cannot be described in the internal policy. The policy can describe the values, goals and vision of the organization and it is usually called the Business Strategy. Many organizations do not make any difference among the corporate culture and the business strategy.

The corporate culture has to be demonstrated and felt by the top management and the employees. The top management has to put the corporate culture on its daily agenda as they have to keep the corporate culture alive. They are the pattern for the corporate culture, but when the organization grows quickly, they need to make sure, the high performance corporate culture is visible in all the parts of the organization.

The high performance corporate culture makes the life in the organization easier as it sets the standards, expectations and describes the decision process. The organization with the high performance culture will the decision process short and the full responsibility will be put the lowest levels of the organization. The top management is fully focused on building and developing the vision of the organization and the rest of the organization focuses on the proper execution of such a vision.

When the top management is not making its role in the high performance corporate culture definition, then the top management has to make the operational decisions and the organization slows down as all the decisions take long time and the personal responsibility disappears from the organization.

The high performance corporate culture is a trademark of the top management and the task cannot be done by anyone else. Many organizations invite the external consultants, who develop a new corporate culture for the organization, but it is a waste of money. The top management has to find the agreement about the new corporate culture and values and they have to demonstrate the new behavior compliant with the vision and the high performance corporate culture.

The corporate culture is purely emotional. No presentation can save the top management from their emotional role in the corporate culture, they have to act as the leaders of the organization and they have to demonstrate the values in a daily practice.
