Human Resources are a function full of people who hate numbers. They want to work with the people, but they do not want to be on the phone with them in the call center. They want to take care of the organization. But the rest of the company is usually strictly based on the numbers to take decisions and they have to feel frustrated when speaking to HR employees sometimes.
The HR employees need to increase their knowledge of the business essentials and they have to have a deeper know how about the business they work in. When the HR Employees are not aware about the productivity, efficiency, revenue sources and other financial stuff of the organization, they are not taken as serious partners for discussions.
The HR employees are seen as the people who want the others to feel good they are not seen as the partners for the “real business issues”. The HR Employees promote their interest in employees and the business leaders do not see the clear link of the HR activities with the business results. The shareholders are not looking for the employee satisfaction index, they are looking for the real money on their bank accounts.
The HRM Employees have to be skilled and trained in the business essential and they have to know how to read the balance sheet of the organization to understand fully the basis of the company and they have to find the opportunities in the HR value added processes.
